We are proud to welcome Mr. Yi Lin as an international Partner at RNK & Co. Advocates and Corporate Counsel. A seasoned lawyer with a truly global perspective, Mr. Yi brings over a decade of experience in handling complex cross-border legal matters, particularly across South and Southeast Asia.
He is currently the Deputy Director of the South and Southeast Asia Legal Services Practice Research Committee under the Yunnan Provincial Lawyers Association, and a Senior Partner at Shanghai Landing Law Firm, where he also oversees its Kunming office. His work has taken him to more than 30 countries, building a strong reputation for resolving major civil and commercial disputes and supporting clients in high-stakes transactions.
Mr. Yi has advised some of the largest enterprises in the region, offering strategic counsel on everything from mergers and acquisitions to crisis management and corporate restructuring. The combined market value of the clients he has served exceeds ten billion dollars.
He holds a law degree from Sichuan University and is known for his sharp legal insight, clear communication, and deep understanding of the international business landscape.
At RNK & Co., Mr. Yi plays a key role in strengthening our China desk and enhancing legal support for Chinese enterprises operating in Pakistan and the broader region.

Mr. Saad Khan holds LLB (Hons) and a Diploma in Law from the University of London. With a license to appear before the superior courts of Pakistan, Mr. Khan brings over 10 years of experience in litigation, commercial law and regulatory compliance. Before joining RNK & Co., he honed his skills at reputed commercial law firms, gaining valuable expertise in handling complex litigation, contract disputes, and commercial matters with several reported cases to his credit
In addition to his private sector experience, Mr. Khan has also worked in a public sector regulatory body (Pakatan Medical Commission – PMC later changed to Pakistan Medical & Dental Council – PMDC) for three years. His responsibilities included appearing and arguing cases of the department before the honorable Islamabad High Court, Medical Tribunal and other quasi-judicial forums & authorities along with managing litigation before all superior & lower judiciary across the country including preparing and supervising pleadings. Mr. Khan has also worked in the Disciplinary Committee, a quasi-judicial body within PMC/PM&DC regarding medical negligence, misconduct of the doctors and other licensed institutions, which included compliances matters, preparation of show cause notices and cases for hearing and drafting of orders. Besides preparation of opinions and working of legal departments, including disciplinary actions against employees.
Mr. Khan brings not just experience, but a thoughtful and steady approach to the practice of law. His years in both private practice and public regulatory work have shaped a professional with understanding of the law from all sides — as an advocate, an advisor, and a regulator. Mr. Rai Muhammad Nawaz Kharal (Late) was the founding partner of the firm. He was an Advocate of Supreme Court of Pakistan.
Mr. Kharal has had extensive experience of over 40 years. Since his enrolment as an Advocate in 1973, he has had an active law practice in the fields of Civil, Corporate, Constitutional, Taxation, Banking and Arbitration, Service & Employment Law, among others. He has appeared in a number of notable cases across the courts and tribunals of the country. He is recognized as being one of the proficient lawyers of Pakistan.
Some of his most notable career achievements are as follows:
• Counsel in the Military Take over Case in Supreme Court of Pakistan for Supreme Court Bar Association.
• Counsel in the Appointment of Supreme Court Judges case.
• Counsel against M/S Sui Southern Gas Co. cases in the Supreme Court of Pakistan (All the judgments are reported).
• Counsel in Constitutional Petitions No 16 and 20 of 2015 pending Adjudication in the Supreme Court of Pakistan, for the enforcement of the Fundamental Rights of the people of Gilgit Baltistan.
• Counsel in the Referendum case, Hisba Bill Case and the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) Cases.
• Has conducted numerous cases representing M/S N.B.P. H.B.L. U.B.L. RDFC, SBFC (SME Bank) NDFC, SECP Investment Corporation of Pakistan, Insurance Corporation of Pakistan, BEL, PICIC, FBC, OPF, PTDC, OGDCL, PIAC & NHA.
• Nominated as Deputy Attorney General to the Government of Pakistan in 1997.
• Appointed as Legal Consultant to the Agricultural Development Bank of Pakistan in 1997.
• Consultant for Ministry of Kashmir A9airs & Northern Areas and SAFRON, Government of Pakistan, Islamabad, for the projects, “Enhancement and uprating of Power Generation Projects in Gilgit” based on public private partnership.
• Served as Legal Advisor to the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Ltd., an International Banking Company in Pakistan.
• Appointed as Legal Advisor Capital Development Authority, Islamabad by Ministry of Law & Justice & H.R. Division, Government of Pakistan.

Zohra Anis Sahibzada holds an LLM from Queen Mary College, University of London, and an LLB from the University of Peshawar. With her diverse expertise in both academia and legal practice, Zohra brings a wealth of knowledge, having served as a lecturer in international law and human rights at various institutions, including Denning Law School and Bahria University.
Her hands-on experience as a legal associate at renowned law firms adds significant value to our practice. She has contributed to significant research projects, such as analyzing the legal aspects of media coverage on terrorism and working on high-profile cases like Republic of Marshall Islands v. Pakistan at the International Court of Justice. Her accomplishments in debating and writing demonstrate her dedication to advocacy and legal discourse, which aligns with our firm’s mission of providing comprehensive legal services with a strong emphasis on research-based solutions.

Ms. Dua is an Advocate High Court. She has recently become a part of the Firm’s team located in Karachi. She brings a wealth of diverse experience to her role in the Firm. Following the completion of her LLB (Hons) degree from the University of London, she commenced her career as an Associate at Haider Waheed & Partners, subsequently transitioning to Haider Mota & Co. Additionally, she contributed her legal expertise at International Steel Limited as an in-house practitioner. Her multifaceted background equips her with the ability to address a wide range of legal challenges encountered by corporate entities.

Asad is an Advocate High Court. Asad brings rich experience gained from his tenure at esteemed law firms in Pakistan to energize the recently established Karachi office. His track record includes delivering legal services to prominent commercial and industrial clients throughout Pakistan, both in contentious and non-contentious matters.
Asad possesses a broad spectrum of expertise, ranging from constitutional law and taxation to customs and regulatory affairs. His advisory role within the construction sector has been invaluable, as he has served in various capacities, providing critical guidance. Asad has gained experience in high-stakes arbitration cases involving the Oil and Gas Sector of Pakistan, under the jurisdiction of the London Court of International Arbitration.

Muddasir Ahmad completed his LLB (Hons.) from Bahria University Islamabad in 2022 and followed by an LLM in International and Maritime Law from the same university. He has also provided legal assistance to refugees living in Pakistan. His core area of work is litigation in civil, family, and criminal matters.

Ali Tauqeer Aslam completed his LLB (Hons.) from the University of London in 2023. He brings to RNK & Co. a strong foundation in legal research and litigation support, having gained hands-on experience through internships at both the Advocate General’s Office Islamabad and AJURIS, Advocates & Corporate Counsel. Ali joined RNK & Co. in May 2024 as a Legal Associate. He is involved in research, legal drafting, case preparation, and litigation in civil and service matters.

Mohammad Shamyl Khan holds an LLB (Hons.) from the University of London and an LLM in Commercial and Corporate Law from Queen Mary University of London. He began his legal career at ABS & Co. and served as an adjudicator in the United Kingdom for over a year.
Currently an Associate at RNK & Co., he assists the Managing Partner in High Court matters, particularly in civil and tax litigation. His work primarily involves legal research, drafting, and preparing case files.

Hassan is currently practicing in both contentious and transactional matters, with a primary focus on litigation. In contentious matters, he represents clients and assists senior partners in arbitration and litigation in civil, commercial and constitutional laws. On the transactional side, a large part of his work includes legal research and issuing opinions on the arbitration, contract, companies and procedural laws.

Mr. Ansari has a diverse professional background. He began his career in 2008 and has gained expertise in various areas, including Tax, Corporate, and Labour laws. His educational qualifications include a Law (LLB) degree and a Certificate of Accounting and Finance from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan. Throughout his career, Mr. Ansari has worked with several renowned firms and organizations. He started his journey by working in well-known Chartered Accountant firms such as Hyder Bhimji & Co in Karachi, Tariq Abdul Ghani Maqbool & Co in Islamabad, and law firms like Mian Tax Law Associates. Over time, he honed his skills and knowledge in Taxation Advisory Services, Corporate Advisory Services, and Labour Laws Advisory Services.
Mr. Ansari’s professional engagements have spanned a wide range of organizations, including those in the IT sector, public sector, construction industry, telecom, hospitals, NGOs, INGOs, multinational companies, amongst others. He has been affiliated with J.A.S.B. & Associates Chartered Accountants. He has joined the Firm where he continues to excel as a Senior Tax and Corporate Advisor. His expertise lies in providing guidance on tax compliance and litigation, corporate compliance, legal drafting, and labor law matters. His career has been marked by energetic growth and success in these fields.

Mr. Ali Nawaz Kharal is an Advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan and an Accredited Civil Commercial Mediator (ADR-ODR International). Over the years, he has earned a distinguished reputation for his meticulous handling of complex legal matters across a broad spectrum of litigation encompassing commercial, contractual, civil, and taxation disputes. As a litigator, Mr. Ali has a substantial number of reported judgments under his name and is recognized for his court appearances throughout Pakistan and before specialized tribunals. His portfolio extends to construction disputes, banking and finance, medical and telecommunication laws, mergers and acquisitions, tax and commercial disputes and arbitrations involving both commercial and construction sectors. Mr. Ali has extensive experience representing and advising clients in contentious and non-contentious matters, related to FIDIC Contracts, general commercial and tax-related disputes.
Mr. Ali’s portfolio includes representing clients in both contentious and non-contentious proceedings throughout Pakistan before the Higher Courts, including specialized tribunals. He is also a trusted advisor on taxation matters and has recently been appointed as one of the preferred legal representatives for Pakistan’s federal tax authority, underscoring his proficiency in tax-related litigation and advisory. Mr. Ali also advises two leading telecommunication companies in Pakistan on commercial, labour and regulatory matters.
In addition to his general litigation work, Mr. Ali’s portfolio features representation in high-stakes arbitrations, including commercial arbitrations, arbitrations concerning construction disputes and disputes involving international arbitration forums and is well versed in various institutional rules and advising on alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, including mediation. His expertise in tax matters has led to his recent nomination as one of the preferred lawyers for representing the federal tax authority of Pakistan, thanks to his skill in handling complex tax litigation and advisory work.
As the head of the corporate practice arm at his firm, Mr. Ali provides in-depth advisory services on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and project restructuring. Before joining RNK & Co., Mr. Ali gained valuable experience at prestigious law firms in Pakistan and worked at the office of the Attorney General for Pakistan. He holds an LLB (Hons) from the University of Newcastle at Northumbria, United Kingdom.
